OUR ORIGINS IN ART & HOSPITALITY
Long before Rani Destination Weddings became a name synonymous with luxury celebrations, our journey began at Arts.i Café, an experiment in blending visual art, food, and human connection.
Opened in 2008 in collaboration with Religare Arts Initiative and AHPL, the café was more than a dining space. It was a creative hub, where artists, thinkers, and dreamers gathered over coffee and conversation, surrounded by changing exhibitions and live performances.
It taught us that ambience is emotion and that every plate, colour, and candle can tell a story. That philosophy continues to guide every event we create today. Just as we do in our celebrations, each exhibition at Arts.i told India’s story; where tradition met imagination, and the familiar became art.
THE DECORATED COW
The Cow — A Living Canvas of Contradictions
Amid the hum of Connaught Place, a quiet spectacle reimagined the cow; not as a sacred relic, but as a mirror of India’s evolving identity, curated by Dr. Seema Bawa. Through texture and light, the artist transformed this symbol of divinity into a reflection of modernity: ancient yet restless, grounded yet in motion.
As curatorial partners, we craft such experiences where art, culture, and emotion converge. A single installation, like a painted cow in Delhi, becomes more than display; it becomes dialogue, memory, and meaning.
LAILA — THE AUTO RICKSHAW
In Laila, Prof. Rajarshi Smart reimagines the humble rickshaw as both subject and storyteller, a vessel that carries the paradoxes, humor, and humanity of everyday urban life. Through irony, playfulness, and cultural references, the work transforms a familiar object into a symbol of imagination and movement. The piece embodies the artist’s fascination with how ordinary forms hold extraordinary meaning, blurring the lines between the real and the poetic.
Laila reflects the spirit we hold close at Rani, finding beauty in the familiar and transforming it into something timeless.
From curating meaningful showcases to collaborating with visionary artists, Arts.i became a living gallery of ideas. Each exhibit now forms part of our creative archive, a visual record of how our story with art, design, and hospitality began. Arts.i Café remains one of our most defining creative assets; a space that shaped our understanding of design, storytelling, and cultural authenticity, values we now carry into every Rani celebration.
